U500 Quick Attach
Brushcutters are a new introduction to the governmental mowing
industry. The goal is to provide a robust mowing system in the
form of an implement on a highly flexible vehicle. This
permits the usage of the vehicle for multiple purposes.
Customers who need a flexible vehicle that can be used as a plow,
sweeper or Brushcutter find the Unimog U500 a great platform. In
addition, the U500 will beat all competition to the jobsite!
Integrated
PowerPlate frame components are CAD engineered by Little and factory
endorsed by DaimlerChrysler, for quick and easy attachment to the
U500A truck. Our teams work together to ensure that after
attachment, all systems and structures perform as a fully integrated
system with no compromise in safety, durability, or mowing
performance. The platform and mowing system is designed and built
tough for dedicated full time use in severe duty roadside mowing
applications, while still offering the quick attach versatility of
sharing time with many other attachments.

The Boom is
attached to the truck via a unitized PowerFrame that can be placed
on the DIN 5 Coupler on the front of the U500. The PowerFrame
contains an articulated arm that permits mowing from the left or
right side of the U500.
Five
connections are made between the Brushcutter and truck to allow
control from the electronic joystick and hydraulics. Total installation time is
less than 30 minutes, once the initial installation by the Dealer has
been completed.
The U500 can be
ordered pre-configured for the Mower package, as there are several
additional options the customer will desire. The Dealer can order all
material to easily complete the initial installation.
A torsion
restraint is required to allow full operation of the boom, without
undue loading of the U500 frame. An optional 4th axis
rotator is available to allow rotation of the Brushcutter into the
left or right positions without the operator exiting the truck. |
